Protecting Your Business Against the Great Resignation

Since 2021, employees have been voluntarily resigning from their jobs in huge numbers in the so-called ‘Great Resignation’.

There are a few theories on why this has been happening, including the rising cost of living and long-term job dissatisfaction. Employees are simply looking elsewhere to get more out of their careers unless their current employers can meet their needs.

As a business owner, this cultural phenomenon might feel overwhelming and out of your control. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to improve your chances of holding on to your valuable team.

Mostly, these actions come down to investing in your staff and making them feel valued. Take the advice of one of our Business Engagement Advisors, Hannah Tuckey:

“As a business owner your team should be seen as your biggest asset. They are your business advocates and will want to be there when you need them. If you’re able to build confidence and trust by investing in their growth, the results will show.”
